MarsMedia was founded with the goal of giving a voice to those people and communities who are otherwise silenced. It is our mission to work hard to promote diversity, equality, and inclusion. We love what we do! Here we will keep you updated on projects that push forward this goal, including charities, events, and festivals.
The Boston Asian American Film Festival (BAAFF) is so important to us because it really stands for everything we believe in. BAAFF promotes artists of colour, whose works may otherwise be overlooked in the industry and gives independent artists a strong platform to showcase their talents. This year, MarsMedia was proud to sponsor BAAFF's efforts to increase diversity and unity in film.
The Boston Housing Authorities (BHA) Volunteer Interpreter's Program provides interpretation and translation services for clients with limited English proficiency, ensuring that this does not limit their access to BHA's resources and services. Here is a still from the informational video we produced for BHA.
Susan G Kommen's "Catwalk for the Cure" was perhaps one of the most inspiring and meaningful events we've partaken in this year. The fashion show fundraiser raises awareness of breast cancer, and encourages men and women to stay strong in the face of adversity. What was most stirring was the fact that the women who boldly walked down the aisle were cancer survivors themselves!
The American Film Market is an annual film industry event that takes place in Santa Monica, California. It brings together a multitude of industry talent and hopefuls for a week full of screenings, networking, negotiating, and sales. This year's conferences focused heavily on the Chinese market's penetration in the film world, how New Media and SVOD is changing the traditional models of film and television distribution, and the future of independent film financing and acquisitions. Not only did we meet great talents and soak up a ton of education, but we did it in 80 degree weather. California never disappoints, and neither does the AFM.
